Our Journey So Far
2024
VERTOGEN TECHNOLOGIES INC. IS ESTABLISHED
Vertogen Technologies Inc. is created to advance environmental technologies including pilot-scale research to commercialize the RNG Accelerator, a process that accelerates the rate of fermenting organic waste to produce greater amounts of renewable natural gas.
2025
FUNDING SUPPORT IS OBTAINED
Funding has been obtained from three agencies towards the further development and pilot-scale testing of the RNG Accelerator, leading to commercialization and full-scale implementation. Further announcements regarding the funding agencies and the technology development program will be annouced shortly.

Troy Vassos

Dr. Troy D. Vassos, President and CEO of Vertogen Technologies has a 47 year career distinguished by extensive executive and technical experience, and background in strategic business development, providing the corporate leadership necessary for Vertogen's commercialization path.
Dr. Vassos's environmental engineering expertise is directly aligned with Vertogen’s technology development aspirations, including the RNG Accelerator. Troy’s extensive background in environmental technology R&D, process optimization, and performance assessment uniquely positions him to lead the technical development and strategic deployment of Vertogen's innovative technologies.

Karl Kottmeier

Karl Eric Kottmeier is a Founder and Principal of Vertogen Technologies, bringing over 25 years of executive expertise in corporate governance, venture capital, and public company finance. He is directly responsible for leading Vertogen's corporate development and capital strategy.
Karl's career is defined by successfully financing and administering resource, energy, and technology ventures. He has a proven track record of raising in excess of $250 million in equity capital for companies listed on the TSX, TSX Venture, and CSE exchanges. His experience in financing and scaling innovative extraction technologies (lithium, helium, uranium) is directly transferable to Vertogen's mission.

James Allen
P.Eng, M.Eng, CEM, CMVP
James S. Allen, P.Eng, M.Eng, CEM, CMVP, is a senior energy and environmental engineer focused on clean energy technology and large-scale utility program management. He is a Founder and Principal of Vertogen Technologies Inc., where he leads the development of an innovative "RNG Accelerator" technology to improve the efficiency of biogas production. Concurrently, James serves as the Director of Portfolio Management at Power TakeOff, leading program operations and engineering teams in the delivery of energy efficiency programs for over 30 utilities.
